I'm feeling the tug away from the studio and into my gardens now that the days have turned to spring. In the studio my paintings still have the lingering look of the colors of fall. This little original oil was inspired by a Ridgway Colorado view that I spotted after a day of plein air painting at the Dennis Weaver Park. I put the finishing touches on it tonight and hope that others find a sense of quiet and peacefulness in this tranquil mountain scene.

I have always lived along the Rocky Mountains throughout western Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. I am thrilled to still be able to live next to the San Juan Mountains on the western slope of Colorado where I have a wealth of beautiful imagery to choose from. When not painting, I spend time with my husband, 2 Jack Russells and enjoying my gardening and backyard wildlife.
Creativity and fine arts has been a driving force in my life since childhood. I earned a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Colorado State University and since then have taken numerous workshops under professional artists including Jill Carver, Leah Gusterson and Mike Simpson.
